The Manu Samoa sevens team have missed out a medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games after Australia ran out 24-0 winners in the bronze playoff.
Samoa went unbeaten through the pool phase and beat England 15-14 in the quarter finals but were outclassed 35-7 by eventual winners South Africa.
The Cook Islands finished 10th overall after being thrashed 50-7 by Canada in the bowl final.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, Chef De Mission Robert Graham, was more than pleased with their effort.
"Unexpected but it was really good. For them to make it that far it actually lifts their ranking from previous Commonwealth Games that we've attended. It actually helps them as a sport back home as well as it draws them closer as part of our selection for [The Pacific Games in] Papua New Guinea next year, 2015".
In other Pacific results from Glasgow, Papua New Guinea sprinter Toea Wisil qualified for Tuesday's women's 100m semi finals after finishing third in her heat in a time of 11.64 seconds.
Compatriot Betty Barua ran a season best time of 55.48 seconds in the 400m heats but did not advance to the semis.
Fiji's Banuve Tabakaucoro found the pace too hot in the men's heats, finishing fourth in his race in 10.51 seconds.
Meanwhile in the pool, Fiji's Tieri Erasito and Caroline Puamau both won their 100m freestyle heats.
Matelita Buadromo also touched home first in her 200m individual medley heat although it wasn't enough to earn the trio a place in the semi finals.
