Fiji has declared today a national day of thanksgiving for the release of the 45 Fijian United Nations Peacekeepers in Syria.
The national service will take place at the National Stadium in Suva this afternoon.
The multi-faith service - beginning at 4.30pm - is open to everyone and will see contributions from all the main religions in Fiji - the Christian denominations, Hindus and Muslims.
The Fiji Government is encouraging Fijians to hold similar services around the country today.
A ministry of information statement says every Fijian joined hands to pray for the safe return of the men and those prayers have been answered, so today is about giving thanks to God for their release.
