Sport: Fiji Schools rugby team expect improvement

4:10 pm on 30 September 2014

The Fiji secondary schools rugby team expect to put in a much better showing in Tuesday afternoon's clash against New Zealand Schools in Porirua.

The Fijians stunned New Zealand in Sydney last year but were thrashed 50-15 by Australia in their first match of this year's international series on Friday.

The President of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union, Napolioni Silatolu, is confident they will be much more competitive with a game under their belt.

"We still have to improve on big areas of defence - we know that was lacking [and] we've worked on that during the weekend. We are doing as much as we can because we have learnt from that game against Australia".

The Fiji team will complete their three-match tour against the New Zealand Barbarians Schools team on Saturday.
