The Cook Islands finance minister says appeal decisions from the courts vindicate the Cook Islands Party and prove the Henry Puna led government is legitimate.
Mark Brown says the courts have found there is no basis to Democratic Party allegations of bribery and corruption.
The outcome of July's general election has been uncertain for months with several petitions and appeals being lodged and a by-election held but not counted after a tie in the seat of Mitiaro.
The Appeal Court ruled last week that the High Court must consider both the petition and counter petition relating to the Mitiaro decision but a date for the hearing has not yet been set.
Four other appeals over petition decisions have been dismissed.
Mark Brown says he now believes the Cook Islands Party has the right to govern.
"We've won the election, we've won the petitions and now we've won the appeals; with one reserved decision yet to come in of which we are, we're fairly confident of."
Mark Brown says the party has had to dig deep to find the money to pay to defend itself through the courts.
