CNMI 'Flower Island project' underway

A project is underway in the Northern Marianas to revitalise the area with flowers.

The Marianas Visitors Authority is working with a Japanese landscape architect on the so-called 'Flower Island Project' and also sharing ideas with local architects and engineers.

The flowers to be featured include Bougainvillea, Cordyline, hibiscus, orchids, and anthurium.

The project will comprise of seven zones including a welcome zone at the airport, an eco-corridor at the east side, a flower corridor along the west, a paradise zone for Managaha, a flower garden zone for the island's northside memorials, and a wild flower mountain zone on Mt Tapochau.
