Fiji's Health Minister has promised a full scale investigation into the death of a baby after negligence claims following a fatal delivery at Lautoka Hospital.

Opposition Member Prem Singh told parliament about the incident and also tabled a picture of the baby girl and her death certificate which he says distorted the facts of the birth.
Mr Singh told parliament the sad incident at the end of November involved negligence by medical personnel who should have offered the mother a cesarean section.
He says the case goes to the heart of the rot in Fiji's public health service.
