Samoa's prime minister, Tuila'epa Sailele Malielegaoi, who's also the minister of finance has tabled a supplementary budget.
The 4.2 million US dollars will be funded from Central Bank Reserves and various taxes and fees.
Some of the money will go to pay import duty and other taxes owed by the government, subscriptions to the World Bank, seawall construction, an upgrade to the Faleolo Airport terminal and the demolition of the parliament building.
Some of the money is also set aside for 40 additional scholarships for undergraduate studies in science.
Tuila'epa says following cyclone Evan two years ago, Samoa's GDP has continued to show positive signs of recovery with growth driven by the construction, agriculture and fisheries sectors.
