A lack of available flights could cause delays in returning Shalit Muni Reddy's body to his family and friends in Fiji.
The Fiji Under 17 football international drowned on Tuesday while swimming in Savaii on a team excursion.
He was in Samoa with the Fiji team that had just finished competing at the Oceania Championship.
The Chief Executive of the Fiji Football Association, Bob Kumar, they are doing what they can to assist but could delays.
"We are having difficulties with the flights because the plane that goes to Samoa during the weekdays is 80 out of 72 and I believe they do not have capacity to get a casket so we are looking at it and maybe we will have to work out some way of send the body through New Zealand. These are the possibilites that are being looked at and I'm grateful that our counterparts in Samoa and the OFC officials in Samoa are helping on this. So everybody is contributing and we want to get the body back home as soon as possible".
Bob Kumar says Fiji Football will also help pay for the funeral costs and other expenses, while the rest of the Fiji team is due to fly home on Friday.
