The American Samoa National Olympic Committee has received a welcome funding boost.
A charitable foundation named after the former ASNOC president, Lealaifuaneva Peter Reid, has donated US$25,000, which will go towards the development of a sports training facility and gymnasium, which should be finished by the end of the year.
It's the first major development program by ASNOC for many years which current president Victor Langkilde says will help to train and develop the territory's athletes.
"Successful things can come as long as we remain faithful and committed to the cause for athletes in the programme. I think success is on the horizon but we can only accomplish that if we work together".
