More immigration officers needed in PNG, says governor

The Governor of Papua New Guinea's Oro Province, Gary Juffa, has voiced concern about the lack of immigration officers in the country.

A former top customs official, Mr Juffa says PNG's total of 40 immigration officers is a far cry compared to other Pacific Island nations.

EM TV reports him saying far more immigration officers are needed to effectively deal with the influx of illegal immigrants taking refuge in PNG without proper documentation.
