Leaders from Pacific Island countries have been invited to Iwaki City in Japan in May for the PALM 7 - Tokyo's three yearly forum with the island countries.
Pacific leaders have been regularly invited to Japan since 1997 to discuss co-operation and development issues.
The secretary general of the Pacific Islands Forum secretariat, Dame Meg Taylor, says Japan is an important and long-standing post-forum dialogue partner.
She says the Forum will look forward to further building on this foundation at the next PALM meeting.
