American Samoa's Amata urges resolution to labour dispute

American Samoa's congresswoman, Aumua Amata, has joined her congressional colleagues in urging a swift resolution to a labor dispute causing shipping delays from US west coast seaports.

She says American Samoa is economically and geographically isolated and sea shipping is the life line of the territory.

The congresswoman told a media conference in the US American Samoa almost exclusively relies on importing from the US and she says the shipping delays have deeply affected the territory, leaving store shelves empty.
