The Court of Appeal in Auckland has heard from both the Cook Islands and Democratic parties over the long-running Mitiaro electoral petition case and decided to reserve its decision for a later date.
The Cook Islands Party is appealing against a High Court decision to award the Mitiaro seat to Democratic Party MP Tangata Vavia.
The party argued that a vote should be excluded as the voter had chosen to leave Mitiaro for medical reasons.
