United Airlines stepped in at the weekend after flights from Guam to the Northern Marianas' main island of Saipan were cancelled.
United, which is in a codeshare arrangement with Cape Air, catered for frustrated partners after a series of flights were cancelled, because of technical issues.
The Cape Air plane remains out of service.
In the middle of last year, a number of flights were also cancelled for the same reason, with United providing cover then as well.
