Sport: Nadolo ready for Crusaders return

11:44 am on 6 March 2015

Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo says he's ready to return to Super Rugby after playing another 80 minutes for the Crusaders development side.

The 27 year old helped the Crusaders Knights beat their Hurricanes equivalents 38-21 in Porirua yesterday, having also played against the Highlanders 'B' team last week.

Nadolo was a revelation in the Crusaders surge to the Super Rugby final last season, scoring 12 tries in 15 games.

After three weeks training following his arrival from Japan, Nadolo is keen to help his teammates recover from a slow start to the season.

"Oh definitely, I wouldn't say no. It's something I'm looking forward to, playing. I had a few weeks with fitness and obviously a few games in the [reserves] and I'm looking forward to, if given the opportunity, get a crack next week against the Lions. I was probably not - when I first came - at where I wanted to be but with the help of the trainers I'm getting to where I want to be. Obviously training week in week out and playing is going to help out but you're never going to be as fit as you are when you miss a pre-season and obviously playing back to back seasons".

The Crusaders have the bye this weekend after losing two of their opening three matches of the season.
