The Coordinator of the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre says the domestic violence allegedly committed in two separate cases at the weekend is a stark reminder that legislation needs to be enforced.

Losana McGowan died early on Saturday after she was allegedly pushed after a heated argument with her partner at a flat in Suva.
Police are also investigating the burning of a 26 year old woman who was allegedly doused with fuel by her husband inside a local shopping mall and set alight.
Shamima Ali says ongoing meetings with the police on how to tackle domestic violence have resulted in empty promises.
She says the police aren't doing enough.
"We have had meetings but it seems that it's all talk and nothing else is being done about it. We have offered training for police officers and we were promised that we would be on the training advisory committee and things like that but nothing has come of that."
