Key Samoan diplomatic posts go to women

The Samoa government has appointed two women, former senior public servants, to head diplomatic missions overseas.

Hinauri Petana, who was the chief executive of the ministry of finance is to become the high commissioner for Australia.

The former chief executive of the Small Island Developing States office, who handled preparations for last year's international conference in Apia, Faalava'au Perina Sila, is Samoa's new ambassador to Japan.
