The World Bank is doubling its funding for a project in the autonomous Papua New Guinea province of Bougainville to strengthen the participation of women.

It is giving another US$2.4 million for the Inclusive Development in Post-Conflict Bougainville project.

The money will allow further training and advocacy support for women's groups across Bougainville, and additional grants for community infrastructure and services.

The chief secretary for the autonomous Bougainville government, Monovi Amani, says the project is already giving women more chances to add their voices to policy debate.
