New Zealand has named diplomat Nick Hurley as the country's new High Commissioner to the Cook Islands.

Mr Hurley has most recently held the position of High Commissioner in Samoa and, before that, he was in Solomon Islands.
He has also held previous posts in Australia, France, Fiji, Italy and the Cook Islands.
