A team from New Zealand Rugby will visit Samoa next week to check on progress in the lead-up to July's historic test between the All Blacks and Manu Samoa.

Officials previously visited in February, where they raised issues about the drainage at Apia Park.

New Zealand Rugby CEO Steve Tew says they are happy with preparations so far and this is a chance for a closer look on the ground.

"All good for Samoa. We've got a group going up there next week to do a much more detailed inspection of everything, and we will have a much better feel for how preparations are after that trip".

Construction work is ongoing at Apia Park while only a few general admission tickets remain for sale to the public.
