American Samoa's LBJ hospital has filed a lawsuit against the Samoa Shipping Corporation, which owns the Lady Naomi, for an unpaid hospital bill.

The lawsuit, filed in the High Court this week, seeks a more than 11,000 US dollars judgment against the Apia-based company.

According to the complaint, on November of last year LBJ provided medical services at the request of Samoa Shipping to treat an injured employee of Samoa Shipping.

The complaint says the hospital attorney Doug Juergens demanded payment from Samoa Shipping but the demand was ignored by the defendant.

The hospital is also seeking attorney fees and any other costs the court deems appropriate.
