This weekend's Queensland Cup rugby league match between the PNG Hunters and Northern Pride will go ahead as scheduled, despite the earthquake in Kokopo on Tuesday.

PNGRFL chairman Sandis Tsaka says their office has been monitoring the situation with officials on the ground in Kokopo and the appropriate authorities.

The Hunters have yet to beat the reigning premiers during the regular season, but have prevailed twice in pre-season.
