10:19 am on 26 May 2015

A government school principal in Samoa has been discharged without conviction on nine counts of forgery.

The forgery involves 15,000 US dollars withdrawn by the 50 year old defendant, Tamatoa Logo Efeso, under the Samoa School Fee Grant Scheme.

His discharge without conviction comes after the court accepted the testimonial from the village council and the pulenu'u of Sili on Savaii island.

They confirmed that all funds withdrawn were used for the school and not for personal use.
