Sport: Melbourne Storm to play in Fiji

The Melbourne Storm rugby league team is to play in Fiji from this year.

The 2012 NRL champions will play an exhibition Nines match in December against a local Prime Minister's selection.

The Storm will also train in Fiji and hold coaching clinics for local clubs and youngsters, as well as open trials for aspiring players.

Melbourne Storm Chair Bart Campbell says the club is very much looking forward to playing before Fijian fans and highlighted their support for rugby in the Pacific Islands, saying they are proud to call Fiji and Storm star Marika Korobiete one of theirs.

The parties also agreed to the Storm playing a regular season match in Fiji against another NRL team within the NRL competition from 2017 onwards.
