The Papua New Guinea Lewas have been pooled alongside Bangladesh, Scotland and Thailand for the Women's World T20 Cricket Qualifier, which begins in Bangkok in November.

PNG are in Group A, with Ireland, China, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands making up Group B.

The eight sides will go head to head in the week-long tournament with the two finalists advancing to the World Twenty20 in India, which will be staged alongside the men's event during March and April.

Reigning champion Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies have direct qualification to next year's event after finishing in the top eight of the previous tournament, while Bangladesh and Ireland have progressed to the qualification tournament after finishing ninth and 10th, respectively.

The Lewas will also represent PNG next month in the Pacific Games, which is featuring women's cricket for the first time.
