Two years ago, Miller Pata and Henriette Iatika finished in a tie for ninth in the world in Poland, in their debut appearance.

Miller Pata is back for a second time with a new partner, Linline Matauatu.

The President of Vanuatu Volleyball, Debbie Masauvakalo, says the the pair will go into tonight's opening match against Germany with more confidence than in the past.

"We just met Germany in China and it went to a three-setter so we've taken off a set from Germany so we're looking forward to winning this match. Then Brazil - I think the girls can beat anybody on a good day so we always back ourselves and we will give 110 percent. They just have the belief that when they go up against anybody in the world that they can beat them. They're just as good as everybody else."

Vanuatu will also face last year's World Tour Championship winners from Brazil and Algeria's first ever World Championship pairing in their other pool matches.
