The Nauru Government says it has not made changes to the support for death claims in this year's Budget, despite saying this was the case in its newsletter.
The government quickly passed the Budget two weeks ago during anti-government protests prompted by the lack of scrutiny available in the parliament from which the bulk of the opposition is expelled.
In its newsletter the government had said the support to help families prepare for funerals was no longer needed with the country now in more fruitful times and the population was better off.
But the government information office says this was incorrect and the death claim will stay.
