The Papua New Guinea Opposition Leader says the government must act when it sees evidence of corruption.
Don Polye was speaking after recent revelations by the Education Minister, Nick Kuman, that millions of kina for the Tuition Fee Free policy had been embezzled.
Mr Polye says it is not enough for the Peter O'Neill Government to highlight that money is missing, when it should be putting in place legislation to fight corruption in PNG.
He says recent announced losses include $US20 million dollars from the Tuition Fee Free policy, $US2.8 billion siphoned from trust accounts, $US17 million for the Sepik Plains Agriculture Commercialisation program, and $US11 million for the Port Moresby beautification program.

Mr Polye says the O'Neill Government is good at blaming past governments and public servants, but it should instead make policies, legislate mechanisms and give financial muscle to agencies responsible for fighting corruption.
He says Mr O'Neill must establish a commission of inquiry into these rorts and ensure those responsible face the full force of the law.
