8:58 am on 1 July 2015

The Fiji national team have fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Wellington Phoenix in the final match of the visitors' pre-season football tour.

The Phoenix opened the scoring in the 12th minute at Ba's Govind Stadium when Justin Gulley's attempted cross was deflected and squeezed under goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva to make it 1-0.

Four minutes later Kwabena Appiah finished off a mazy run from Roly Bonevacia to make it 2-0.

After creating a number of second half chances without reward, captain Roy Krishna finally got the home side on the board in the 80th minute.

The 27 year old made it two goals in as many matches against his club team, and three minutes later Fiji grabbed a late equaliser through Jese.

Meanwhile the Wellington Phoenix Academy team ran out 3-1 winners against the Fiji Under 23 Olympic team in the curtain-raiser.
