Military tattoo to end coronation celebrations in Tonga

A military tattoo performance held tonight in Tonga's capital Nuku'alofa, will officially end the coronation celebrations for King Tupou VI.

The 11-day celebrations, which began with a traditional kava ceremony, included fashion shows, royal luncheons, a military parade and more.

The 55-year-old King succeeded his brother, who died in 2012, and was officially crowned at the Free Wesleyan Centenary church in Nuku'alofa on Saturday.

The service was attended by heads of states, dignitaries and royal guests from around the world including Crown Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako from Japan.
