A leadership tribunal has recommended that Boka Kondra be dismissed from office after he was found guilty of six counts of misconduct in office for misappropriating district funds to the tune of over 72 thousand US dollars.

The tribunal found that Mr Kondra misused North Fly's district support improvement program funds to pay for rentals of office, family accommodation and for settling personal debts.

It also recommended he be criminally prosecuted.

But PNG Loop reports that Mr Kondra has sought a judicial review on the ground that all payments made from the North Fly district treasury account were not authorised by the leader, but were done by the district administrator.

A ruling on the application will be made next week.
