An alert bulletin issued yesterday by the Vanuatu Geo-Hazards Observatory indicates the Ambrym volcano remains restless.

Its volcanic Alert Level is being maintained at Level 2, and visitors to the area are advised to observe the volcano away from the designated Danger Zone.

The VGO says the danger remains in the caldera area around the volcanic craters of Benbow and Marum, and on volcanic ash and gas prone areas exposed to trade winds.

It says access to Marum craters is highly risky and entering Benbow crater is also not safe.
