Tonga reviews wages of workers and politicians

The Tonga Government has announced it is investigating salaries to see whether leaders and civil servants get paid too much or too little.

The Finance Minister, Dr Aisake Eke, is reported by Radio Tonga saying that $US2.2 million dollars has been put aside for the exercise.

The Minister says the review of civil servants' salaries will completed by the end of next month and could be immediately implemented and backdated to July 1st, 2015.
