11:38 am on 7 August 2015

Sixteen students in Samoa are facing charges of fighting in a public place and carrying dangerous weapons.

The students, now out on bail after two days in police custody, were charged over a fight at the flea market in Savalalo.

The police say some of the students were drunk and an investigation into the fight is focussing on the shops who sold liquor to the students.

The students are from Don Bosco vocational school and Avele College.

Both schools are located in the suburbs of the capital Apia.

The students will appear in court on the 18th of August.
