The Fiji government is launching a campaign to name and shame people who litter and it says whistleblowers will be rewarded for their efforts.
The Environment Minister Parveen Kumar says drastic measures are needed because previous campaigns against littering have met with limited success and people's mindsets need challenging.
The Environment Department campaign will call on people to upload or send videos and photographs of people littering.
Mr Kumar says the photos will be used to prosecute offenders and if people send in the evidence they can apply for a cash reward based on a percentage of the fine involved.
