Crocodiles spotted in Vanuatu

4:44 pm on 21 September 2015

School students on Vanuatu's Vanualava island say they spotted two crocodiles swimming in Patterson Bay last week.

The students say they were swimming near the crocodiles, which were up to three metres long.

The local authorities are urging people to take extra precautions when in the area.

A few years ago, a six-metre crocodile from Vanualava managed to swim to Maewo but Australian experts caught it and returned it to Vanualava.
