Dengue under control in American Samoa

American Samoa has dengue fever cases under control, with only four cases of seen at the LBJ Hospital two weeks ago.

There were no dengue related admissions in the reporting period.

According to the latest statistics from the Department of Health, the number of dengue patients seen on an outpatient basis from the start of the outbreak in May is 445.

The total number of admissions is 143.

Manu'a still remains dengue free.

The number of deaths since the outbreak started has remained at four.

The Department of Health says residents should continue to clean up around their homes and villages and discard containers that collect water and become breeding sites for mosquitos.
