An MP with Fiji's ruling FijiFirst party Sanjit Patel has resigned.
FBC News reports Mr Patel says he is unable to do justice to his role in parliament given the demands of his business.
A government minister Jioji Konrote has also resigned in order to take up the role of President after being elected to the post in Parliament on Monday.
Under Fiji's new electoral system, those next on FijiFirst's candidate list will take up the seats.
They are former media executive Matai Akauola and Mohammed Dean.
Fiji media report Commodore Viliame Naupoto who was next on the list wanted to stay in the Fiji military.
