The Fiji prime minister Frank Bainimarama will be attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Malta next month.
This comes after Fiji was re-admitted to the Commonwealth following last year's election in Fiji.
Fiji's membership had been suspended in 2006 after Mr Bainimarama removed the elected government in a military coup.
He has told FBC News the CHOGM meeting is important for Fiji.
After the meeting in Malta, the Fiji prime minister will go to France to attend the COP21 UN conference.
