Fiji's Prime Minister says his government is continuing to try and resolve a stand-off with the country's unions in order to avoid an International Labour Organisation inquiry.
Earlier this month, union representatives refused to sign an ILO-required joint implementation report with the government over concerns the government was still restricting the rights of workers.
They are now awaiting an ILO meeting next month to address their concerns and launch a possible commission of inquiry.
However, Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama says such an inquiry would not be good for the country and the government is working to try and get them to sign the agreement.
He told FBC News there is little more the government can do ahead of the ILO meeting in Geneva on November the 11th.
