Former Danish international Flemming Serritslev has taken over as the Papua New Guinea men's football coach.

The 68-year-old captained Vejle Boldklub to three Danish Cup finals and won the league twice during his player career.

He was the manager of Ikast between 1981 and 1985 in the Superliga winning the League Cup.

He also spent eight years as an assistant coach with the Denmark national team, and six years in charge of the Under 21s.

Serritslev has already overseen a men's training camp in preparation for next year's Oceania Nations Cup, which is being hosted in Port Moresby next year.

Serritslev was most recently technical manager of the Mes Kerman football club of Iran, and takes over from Ricki Herbert, who resigned after the Pacific Games.
