Sport: Fiji's Nakarawa named Pacific Islands player of the year

Flying Fijians lock Leone Nakarawa has been named the Pacific Island Rugby Players Association Player of the Year for 2015.

During the World Cup players from Fiji, Samoa and Tonga voted for the 'Players' Player of the Year' from their respective nations as well as the overall award.

Nakarawa also picked up the Fijian Players Player of the Year Award, with winger Telusa Veainu chosen as the Tongan Player of the year and midfielder Paul Perez named the Samoan Player of the Year.

Nakarawa was a standout performer during the World Cup and played in all 10 Fiji test matches during the year, scoring five tries.

He's the second Fijian to win the main award after Nemani Nadolo in 2014.
