Oil vessel stuck in Tonga's capital

An oil vessel has been docked in Tonga's capital, Nuku'alofa, for the past three weeks unable to offload its shipment because of a supposed technical fault.

Radio Tonga reports that the MV Sera Theresa brought a shipment of about 950 tonnes of oil and petrol from Fiji for the fuel company Total.

Total's office in Tonga says work is underway to enable the ship to dock at Queen Salote wharf before further work can be done to solve the technical problem.

Meanwhile, another vessel has departed Fiji to cover for the MV Sera Theresa's regional delivery.
