Samoa receives Chinese grant for police academy

8:42 am on 26 January 2016

Samoa has received US$15 million from China to help develop a police academy.

The academy will be stationed in Tafaigata.

The Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi says the assistance is a grant not a loan.

He says the academy is part of trying to raise the standard of policing in Samoa.
