The first group of Fiji people from Ra who were charged with sedition and inciting communal antagonism in the alleged Ra sovereign Christian state matter have appeared in the Lautoka High Court.
FBC News says in the first charge of sedition, the 16 accused are alleged to have signed a document called the Uluda Declaration in October 2014.
The document is said to promote feelings of enmity and ill-will between different communities, religious groups or classes in a community.
In the second charge of inciting communal antagonism, the 16 accused are alleged to have taken oath to be ministers in the purported Ra Sovereign Christian State.
Bail has been extended to all of them.
The case has been rescheduled in two weeks.
