The first of four charter flights between China's capital, Beijing, and Fiji has touched down at Nadi airport.

The Fiji Times reports the Fiji Airways flight was carrying 300 passengers who travelled to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Fiji.

The managing director of the travel company Rosie Holidays, which organised the charter flights, Tony Whitton, said the four flights would bring 12-hundred tourists during the tourism industry's low season.

Two of the flights would come from Beijing, and the other two from Shanghai.
