The Fiji Trade Union Congress says there is still work to be done around industrial relations but a lot of progress has been made over the past few weeks.
The government says an International Labour Organisation complaint around worker's rights has finally been resolved.
Last month, the ILO met representatives from government, employers and unions in an effort to resolve issues and avoid a Commission of Inquiry or the highest investigative procedure.
The FTUC General Secretary Felix Anthony said the union signed an ILO required report after the government said it would move on a number of concerns.
Mr Anthony said there are still issues around possible restrictions on political affiliations and the Political Parties Decree.
However he said that will be addressed later.
"We're also aware that the ILO has yet to make a recommendation in that regard. They're still requesting much more information from the government of Fiji. That is a matter of concern but the priority for the TUC was to restore the rights of workers as soon as possible and then we will be looking at all other matters."
