An initiative to ensure all Solomon Islands primary school students enter the form one level of schooling has been accomplished this year.

The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Dr Franco Rodie, said all standard six pupils who sat the Secondary School Entrance Examination in 2015, had been placed in Form One in 2016.

Dr Rodie said government budgetary allocations to the ministry in 2015 made the achievement of this goal possible.

He said it allowed the upgrading and renovation of primary and secondary schools to provide more space for more pupils to enter the school system.

Dr Rodie said the initiative was finally realised this year, with no dropouts in standard 6, as of 2016.
