The Samoa Federal Pacific Finance has come to the aid of the small business vendors who were victims of the Savalalo flea market fire with a $US10,000 donation.

Our correspondent says this financial assistance is separate from the Samoa Offering Hope fund-raising drive which consists of the Samoa hotel association and four commercial banks that so far collected more than $US10,000.

The Government through the Samoa Land Corporation was the first to offer financial help of around $US150,000 which had been divided among nearly 300 business vendors.

The Government has also given two months free of charge for the small businesses to operate at a temporary market.

The food stall businesses who were also victims of the fire have been operating for more than a week at the temporary market.
