Samoa's caretaker Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, announced that a team could be sent to Christchurch to help in the rebuild there following devastating earthquakes.

Tuilaepa told a gathering of 450 seasonal workers, leaving soon for fruit picking jobs in New Zealand, that the negotiations to include builders and carpenters in the scheme has taken five years.

He has also revealed that the latest reports for the scheme showed that women outperformed their male counterparts in the workplace.
